Stampin' Up Cards, March 6th from 6:30-8:30p.m.

Esther Thoele of Stampin' Up will teach you how to use decorative rubber stamps and accessories to make personal greeting cards. Participants will create different themed cards each month. Bring your own scissors and adhesive. Register for each class separately. Pay instructor directly. Evergreen Park Public Library

Yak and Yarn ~ Tuesday, March 06, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

The Yak and Yarn Club is open to crocheters and beginning knitters as well.   6th grade - adult are welcome. Sessions are held in the library’s Reading Room. Beginning crochet students should bring an H/8 hook and skein of medium weight yarn; beginning knitters should bring size 8 needles and a skein of medium weight yarn. All others bring a current project you are working on to enjoy the camaraderie of crocheting and knitting with others. Evergreen Park Public Library

Starting Seeds Indoors ~ March 14th from 6:30 to 8:30

Learn the joys and benefits of growing flowers and vegetables from seeds planted straight into your garden! This class will cover which flowers and vegetables grow best from seeds and when and how to plant and care for your seeds, and much more! All materials included. Create a Clay Animal  ~ March 15th, 4:00 to 4:45

Take a trip! The Chicago Flower & Garden Show~March 17th from 9:15 AM - 3:45 PM

Co-sponsored by the Garden Club of Evergreen Park. The 2017 Chicago Flower & Garden Show returns to Navy Pier this spring. Join us for garden inspiration and hands-on fun. Take home some great ideas from one of the feature gardens or go back to school at a gardening workshop. There’s something for the kids too with an activity garden, crafts, and critter encounters. For more information visit www.chicagoflower.com. The cost includes group ticket price and the library is paying for school bus transportation. Lunch on the Pier is on your own; The bus is scheduled to depart the library at 9:15 am and will leave for the return trip from Navy Pier at 3 pm. Limit of 40 participants. Sign up early! Your ticket is not confirmed until payment is made. Ticket price is $20.

Meditation: Keys to Success ~ March 19th from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

What are the qualities that lead to success in any field? Patience and perseverance are necessary qualities in developing new habits. Controlling the mind is a key factor when learning to succeed. Join Renate Lanotte (MS LCSW) Psychotherapist,  who will talk about the factors needed to enhance your meditation practice. She will explore with you some creative ways to develop accuracy and focus to improve your concentration. Ready, Set, Go! How to Prepare to Run a Marathon with Running Excels ~ March 29th 6:30 PM

Get ready to get out there and challenge yourself to go the distance! Join a professional trainer from Running Excels to learn what you need to start covering some ground. Instructor Beverly Lynch will speak on training for novice, intermediate, and advanced runner. In addition she will discuss the importance of gait analysis for proper footwear, and gear to help you succeed. Evergreen Park Public Library
